£MPS/UPS [£22,467 - £38,250]

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and inspirational teacher of Religious Education with the ability to teach both KS3 and KS4, who is committed to facilitating high levels of student engagement and academic progress, creating a stimulating and positive classroom ethos and fostering independent and collaborative student-led learning. Our Headteacher always says that our young people really are our best advertisement - they are happy, courteous, conscientious, respectful and respected – why not pay us a visit to see for yourself? To arrange this please contact Julie Hannah, Headteacher’s PA or Louise Yarrington, Head of Humanities Faculty.

Our school’s fundamental principles focus on supporting, challenging and inspiring the whole Langley community ‘to be the best that we can be’. But these are not simply words on paper. Students, staff and governors genuinely give all they can, to bring those principles to life every day. Examinations are critically important, of course, and our students achieve superbly well in them, but we truly believe in developing young people to deal with the tests of their lifetime, not merely to endure a lifetime of tests. Everyone who visits us comments on the special ethos of our school – ‘the Langley way’.

In May, 2013 Ofsted reported:

“Students make good progress and do well in nearly all subjects.”

“Students are very courteous and polite towards staff, other students and visitors to the school.”

“Teaching is good, with a growing proportion of outstanding lessons.”

“The headteacher and the leadership team are dedicated to improving the school.”

“Morale among the staff is high.”

Please see below for the person specification, job description, a letter from our Headteacher and the necessary application form:

Closing date: Tuesday 25 April 2017
Proposed interview date: Friday 28 April 2017

Langley School staff, governors and students are committed to the safeguarding and welfare of students and staff. Please note that Disclosure & Barring Service clearance at the appropriate level will be required for this post.

About Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

About Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council

Into newcastle university job vacancies

Solihull has been voted as one of the best places to live in the UK. As one of the most prosperous towns in the Midlands, almost 70 percent of our borough is designated as green belt. We are home to the award winning Touchwood Shopping Centre, National Exhibition Centre and the Genting Arena including Resorts World.

It is an exciting time for Solihull, although we are a relatively small local authority (c.7000 employees), we still have ambitious plans including the development of UK Central and HS2.
