Job Title: Cultural Affairs Assistant - FSN-08/FP-6*

Basic Function of the Position
  • Incumbent is responsible for planning and executing cultural exchange programs for academics, youth, and women and other constituencies.
  • S/he is also the principal point of contact and coordinator for Post programming such as the Fulbright Junior Staff Development program, the Youth Exchange and Study program, speaker programs, nonacademic exchange programs, and programs connected with certain Education Advisor Center (EAC) initiatives.
  • Additionally, s/he plans and leads PAS Abuja special outreach programs targeting youth, interfaith leaders, and conflict resolution professionals, and with USG-Nigerian Alumni Associations, especially in northern Nigeria.
Position Requirements

  • University Degree in Liberal Arts or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years in progressively responsible experience in program administration is required.
  • Level IV (Fluent) Speaking /Reading/Writing in English is required. Level III (Good working knowledge) of Hausa is required. Language proficiency will be tested.
  • Knowledge of Public Diplomacy exchange regulations and procedures, and correspondence format is required.
  • Knowledge of Nigerian program institutions in government, politics, education and media is required.
  • Ability of communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
Hiring Preference Selection Process
When qualified, applicants in the following hiring preference categories are extended a hiring preference in the order listed below. Job Title: Laboratory System Specialist, FSN-10/FP-5/5*

Basic Function of the Position

  • Under the supervision of the Laboratory Services Team Lead, the incumbent serves as funded Laboratory portfolio of one or more CDC supported cooperative agreements.
  • S/he serves as a key contributor to the planning, development and review of these CoAGs, which are part of the Annual Country Operational Plan (COP) for Nigeria.
  • This position provides technical expertise to the Nigeria President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), implementing partners (IPs), as well as to the Federal Ministry of Health (FMoH) and other relevant key stakeholders, on sundry laboratory issues, including the use of laboratory evidence to inform PEPFAR program strategies and program implementation, and overall public health policies.

Position Requirements

  • A university Degree in one of the following disciplines: Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Chemistry, Medical Microbiology, Hematology or any related Medical Laboratory Science degree is required.

  • Ability to provide leadership, technical direction, and technical expertise in monitoring and analyzing laboratory quality and service performance data, being able to analyze and interpret the spectrum of laboratory medicine services. This includes the identification and resolution of a wide variety of related cooperative agreement and laboratory problems such as; identifying underperforming implementing partners and understanding current issues around laboratory QMS is required.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet are required.

The U.S. Mission in Accra, Ghana is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of IT Assistant in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) office of the Embassy.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

•   Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the incumbent provides IT systems support for the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) programs, both in the embassy and at the remote office in Korle-Bu.
•   The incumbent supports the operations of the CDC Ghana Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN), to include network performance, security, software and hardware performance, system trouble shooting, and administrative functions as necessary to maintain system availability to CDC Ghana staff. Provides user support for the development and creation of multimedia documents. The incumbent also conducts user trainings.

Qualification Required & Experience

•   EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems is required. The incumbent is required to be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.

Server management and two years’ experience using MS Exchange version 2003 or later. Must have at least one year of experience using Web technology and Multimedia applications.
